Follow in the footsteps of the Mission fathers along the San Antonio River. We’ll stat at Victoria then visit Goliad to see a real fortified presidio and its protected mission. We’ll travel up the river to San Antonio. On the way we’ll see the cattle mission of Espada, the farming mission at San Juan Capistrano with its dam and water-filled acequias, to the magnificent San Jose y San Miguel de Aguayo Mission where we’ll enjoy the museum and the Mission with its film on Spanish settlers. We'll spend the night in San Antonio at the Drury Plaza with time to explore the River walk then get a chance to visit the Alamo and tour downtown San Antonio.
Itinerary
Day One Depart from Historic Tours of Texas offices at 1225 11th Street.
Ø Arrive Victoria, Texas to tour the Victoria Museum.
Ø After lunch, depart for Goliad and Tour of Mission Espiritu Santo.
Ø Tour Presidio La Bahia, Goliad.
Ø Night at the Antlers Inn.
Day Two Depart for San Antonio – 9 am
Ø Tour Mission Espada – explore ranching museum.
Ø Tour Mission San Juan Capistrano –explore the dams and acequias.
Ø Lunch at Mi Tierra, San Antonio.
Ø Visit San Jose y San Miguel de Aguayo.
Ø Check in at the Drury Plaza.
Ø Evening free to explore San Antonio River walk.
Day Three – Depart - 9 am
Ø Breakfast at the Drury Plaza
Ø Visit the Alamo
Ø Lunch at a downtown restaurant
Ø Depart for home about 2 p.m.
